Scotland and England Day 13 (27 June 2018)
We started off the day in Oban, Scotland and over 200 miles later, we ended in Haltwhistle, England! It was an amazingly scenic drive as we meandered through the mountains down towards the rolling hills of Scotland.

When we entered the Trossachs National Park, we found the Falls of Falloch. What a pleasant little hike from the car park! It was rejuvenating to take a small hike towards a pleasant waterfall!

When we were LITERALLY in no man’s land, between Scotland and England, we were stuck in traffic. You know you’re going to be there awhile when people start getting out of their cars to have a smoke break and chat with their fellow drivers.

However, we finally made it to Haltwhistle! They claim to be the exact center of the UK!

We were able to drive around and get oriented for tomorrow. We get to hike Hadrian’s wall! Country number 4...let’s do this!

We then had the chance to drive next to Loch Lomond. It’s the largest fresh water lake in the British Isles. It is impressive with the sun shining down on it too!

At first, we weren’t super excited to be stopped, but then we realized it is an interesting pop up community where everyone is interested in what others have to say. The trucker next to us had driven trucks across North America, and he wanted to talk about how great truck stops are in the US. 😊

It looks like you were stopped right on the borer between Scotland and England!
ReplyDeleteI loved your comment about a "pop-up community."
