Day 5 - Bintan Island, Indonesia (23 July 2019)

Indonesia? Yes, please. We decided to get the water pass for the resort.  But because we were doing so many water activities, I knew I wouldn’t have access to my phone. So, I did take a few pictures to and from places, but I mostly just soaked in the experience. 😊

We ate breakfast around 8:30 a.m. and they had a good selection of breakfast options at the resort’s buffet. I went back for a more colorful plate of food after my first one, but forgot to take a picture of it.

We then walked out to the beach. There is something soul healing about being on a beach and listening to the waves lap the shore, especially when only a handful of people are on the whole beach!

The resort had a few beaches, so we walked over to the other beach for all of the water activities.  This place is pretty delightful and relaxing!

We had signed up to use the jet skis at 10:00 am, and got ourselves situated in the locker room before then. However, when we got our ‘safety lesson,’ we were off and was it fun!  Except for the fact that the engine would shut off if you were going too fast while hopping waves, it was SO. FUN!!!

We got to shore, and immediately went out on the two person kayak. It was exercise to get it to go where we wanted, but we had a great time too. I was starting to feel the motion of the waves. So we made it back to the shore, and I drank a bottle of water with some hydration boost and took a motion pill.

We could’ve gone snorkeling too, but I was still feeling the rocking and Tami enjoys snorkeling a little less, so we decided to head to the pool instead. The water was cool and we had the area where we were swimming to ourselves. Perfect.

After swimming, we went back to the locker room and collected our stuff to go to lunch. I had a pineapple smoothie and a teriyaki pizza!

I signed up for a massage after lunch, and was excited to go. The masseuse was great with her hands and worked out some knots that I didn’t realize I had. The concept of modesty was a little different, as I got under the covers and evidently didn’t put them on correctly, so she fixed them as soon as she came in.

The mats were on the floor, after you step up the small ledge to get in the space. I was in a room for three people, though it was just me in it.

I walked back to the beach cabana reception area to help load luggage on the bus, where we loaded back up and made our way over to the ferry.

I sat by Tambee on the ferry back to Singapore and we had a great time catching up.we were also able to see a glorious sunset!

Indonesia surprised me. It was extremely relaxing and so gorgeous. It was a much needed vacation among all the travel. 💕
